Each year, BBYO’s CEO Matt Grossman writes to more than 150 college admissions offices about the experiences and values behind BBYO membership. This year’s letter focuses on a lesson at the heart of BBYO: the communities we inherit flourish when young leaders take responsibility for helping them grow. 

As Matt writes in his letter, “BBYO members are accustomed to building relationships across differences, taking initiative when they see a need, and stepping forward to create communities where others feel connected and empowered to lead. Rather than asking only what a community can offer them, they are driven by a deeper question: How can I leave this place stronger than I found it?”
