Frequently Asked Questions

BBYO International Convention (IC) represents the largest annual gathering of Jewish teen leaders worldwide. This trailblazing event provides an impactful stage for thousands of teens to champion democracy, engage in crucial dialogues on combating antisemitism and hate, and fuel their enthusiasm for making a difference in their communities and the world around them. Throughout the action-packed, five-day convention, participants hear from and meet with inspiring speakers, strengthen their leadership skills, serve the local community, participate in powerful learning sessions, enjoy exclusive music performances, and do their part to strengthen the Jewish future.

Check out an overview of the program schedule here.

The IC website will be updated regularly with information about program announcements and details you will need to know. You can also follow along on BBYO’s social media channels, including Instagram, Facebook, and X using the hashtag #AZABBGIC2027.

Please note that, as part of registration, you will be asked to submit the following:

• Completed Form W9 (U.S.-based) or Form W8BEN (non-U.S.-based)
• Job Title and Company (this will be shared on our website and IC app)
• Bio
• Headshot
• Dietary preferences/restrictions
• Shomer Shabbat preferences/restrictions

IC is a casual conference—generally, casual clothing like jeans are appropriate. Many speakers also wear brand swag/shirts that represent their workplace to convention. If you prefer to dress a step up for your presentation/workshop/session, you are welcome to do so, but it is not required.

The one exception is Friday Night Shabbat Dinner where attire should be nicer than typical casual clothes. Slacks and khakis, polo shirts, a button-down shirt, skirts, blouses, or dresses are appropriate for all. BBYO teens often wear white in celebration of Shabbat.

‍Please note, for the safety of our guests and participants, all IC speakers must wear credentials throughout the convention space. Credentials will be available for pickup beginning Wednesday afternoon, February 10, and throughout the weekend at the Adult Registration Desk. More information will be provided as we get closer to convention.

• A winter coat or jacket—Baltimore can get cold!

• Friday Night Shabbat dinner outfit—slacks and khakis, polo shirts, a button-down shirt, skirts, blouses, or dresses are appropriate.

• Brand swag, apparel, or information (stickers, information on upcoming events, ways to get involved, etc.)

• Business cards

• Anything else you need to make your stay with us comfortable

IC 2027 will take place in downtown Baltimore, Maryland, close to world-class restaurants, shopping, and historic landmarks.

Please note for security purposes, the specific name and location of IC will not be released until a few days before IC begins. You will receive this information via email leading up to IC.

If you are interested in staying at the hotel beyond your contracted dates, you are able to book directly through our registration portal or you can email us at icadult@bbyo.org. Please note, all additional nights will be at your own expense. Payment will be collected as convention nears.

Typically, Friday boxed-lunch, Friday Shabbat dinner, and Saturday brunch are included, but these may vary based on participation dates.

If you are joining us during Shabbat, you are invited to enjoy the vibrant energy of Friday Night Shabbat Dinner in one of our main dining rooms (plugged in or Shomer Shabbat options available) alongside our 5,000 IC attendees.

Dietary information is collected during the registration process.

While most International Convention programming is onsite, we do venture into the local area for our 40+ LEADS Day tracks. As we approach convention, we’ll be in touch with details on transportation to/from your LEADS tracks (if applicable). For guests from out of town, we typically provide Uber/Lyft codes to get you to the location.
