Trip Overview
We're excited to provide the following trip overview to give you a better sense of this experience. The actual program will vary, and a confirmed itinerary will be distributed to registered families no later than two weeks before the program begins. Even after the confirmed itinerary is sent, adjustments may still be made—both leading up to and during the program—based on local conditions.
Group Travel
Travel with confidence knowing that BBYO organizes supervised group flights to and from Israel. Our staff are present at departure airports to greet teens and help them feel welcome right away, and they accompany each group throughout the journey—both on arrival and on the return trip home. Northern Israel
Head north to discover Israel's beautiful landscapes, historic communities, and outdoor adventures. Explore the ancient city of Tzfat, known for its connection to Jewish mysticism, and wander through its artists' colony. Hike Mount Arbel for incredible views of the Sea of Galilee, spend time on the water, and enjoy rafting along the Jordan River.
Travel through the Golan Heights on an off-road Jeep adventure, taking in views of the surrounding region and learning about its history. Experience Druze culture through a visit to a local village and a traditional meal. Along the Mediterranean coast, explore the ancient port city of Acco and discover Haifa's diverse communities, including the beautiful Bahá'í Gardens. Celebrate Shabbat alongside fellow Jewish teens in the Galilee, sharing familiar traditions in a new setting and creating memories together.
Central Israel
Discover the history and energy of Jerusalem, from the ancient streets of the Old City to the busy stalls of Mahane Yehuda Market. Walk through the Jewish Quarter, visit the Kotel (Western Wall), and explore the City of David and its underground tunnels. Learn about Israel's history and society through visits to Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Center, Mount Herzl, and the Knesset, Israel's parliament. Connect with thousands of years of Jewish history, reflect on your own Jewish identity, and discover what makes Jerusalem so meaningful to Jewish people around the world.
In Tel Aviv, experience a different side of Israel through its beaches, neighborhoods, and lively markets. Explore the street art of Florentin, browse Carmel Market and the Nahalat Binyamin arts fair, and spend time along the Mediterranean coast. Visit ANU—Museum of the Jewish People to explore Jewish identity and culture, and discover the history of nearby Jaffa. Along the way, take part in hands-on volunteer opportunities, meet Israelis from different backgrounds, and learn more about the people and communities shaping the country today.
Southern Israel
Journey into the Negev Desert for some of Israel's most memorable outdoor experiences. Hike to the top of Masada to watch the sunrise over the desert, float in the Dead Sea, and explore the natural beauty of Ein Gedi. Take in the views of the Ramon Crater, ride camels, and spend an evening under the stars at a desert encampment with your mishpacha (Hebrew for family).
As you continue south to Eilat, you'll snorkel among colorful marine life in the Red Sea, enjoy water activities, and experience the striking contrast between Israel's desert mountains and coastline. Explore the Arava Valley, learn about agriculture in the desert, and see the sand dunes in every direction as your bus winds down the roads.
Teens will also visit communities in the Western Negev along the Gaza border, including Sderot. Hear firsthand stories from local residents, learn about life in these communities, and gain a deeper understanding of the people who call this region home.
